What can I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit is all about getting to know each other. Dr. Welmerink or Dr. Utter will examine your teeth, take X-rays if needed, and discuss your treatment options. It’s a relaxed, no-pressure appointment where you’ll learn about your choices.

Is it worth getting an orthodontic consultation if my teeth aren't that crooked?

Absolutely. Braces or aligners aren’t just for severe cases—they help with all types of alignment issues, including bite problems or spacing. Even minor corrections can have a big impact on your smile and overall oral health!

Is orthodontic treatment painful?

The process of getting braces or aligners is not painful. In the days following an adjustment or new set of aligners, you’ll feel sore as your teeth adjust. It’s totally normal and means the treatment is working. Any discomfort is mild and temporary, and we’ll give you all the tips to ease it.

How long will treatment take?

Treatment time varies, but most people wear braces or aligners for 12 to 24 months. We’ll give you a clear timeline based on your specific needs so you know exactly what to expect—every step is a step toward a stunning smile!

Is treatment affordable?

The cost depends on the type of treatment you choose, but our financial coordinators will discuss all pricing upfront—you get the full information before making a decision. In addition to working with your insurance, we offer flexible payment plans and financing options. If I get a consultation, am I obligated to start treatment?

Not at all. The goal of your consultation is to gather information about your oral health and discuss what treatments will improve the appearance and function of your smile. The consultation gives you time to meet Dr. Welmerink or Dr. Utter and the team and see if our practice is a good fit for you. We’re a no-pressure office—a consultation isn’t a commitment.
